rear crack on psl

Theres a psl a for sale for 1000 but it states "rear reinforment plate on reciever trunion had cracked and fixed with weld" would this be a safe gun to buy or not even worth the trouble?

For $1000 I'd wait for another PSL or a VEPR or really anything else I might want to spend $1000 on.
