First off the rifle, and shotgun barrels I've managed to acquire for fun :) I love the wood on this rifle and it's one of the few SB2 models they sell with a case hardened receiver which just adds to the looks IMO.

It started life as a 45 colt classic but I like it better with the 22 inch 45/70 barrel and sold the never used (and too short IMO) 20 inch 45 colt barrel and keeping the 45/70 barrel. Then I started finding shotgun barrels and so far have 3 in 410, 20ga and 12ga that all function fine on the action.

What I'd like to get now is a 22lr barrel, so the question is do the 22 cal handi rifles use an offset chamber like the Rossi 22/shotgun combo's (centered firing pin) or do they have a centered chamber and a offset firing pin? What I'm asking is if I get a 22 barrel will it work on this frame as well?

From the pics I've seen, it appears the .22 RF barrel is offset to allow a common firing pin to be used for all the certerfire barrels available. I've handled a .22/.410 combo in a store and when I broke the action open to make sure it wasn't loaded, the firing pin looked normal to me.
