I dont care how many Police Sale's they get. I can't see them staying up there much longer. S&W did such a lousy Job on the Walther PPK/S they lost the Contract from Walther.

It will come down to how much it costs to move versus what they pay in taxes to the state of Connecticut.

Actually it was about 10 years ago and it was when Brits owned it. They sold it as their anti-US gun owner stance killed their sales to the point the company really was going down the shitter. They had to sell or end up in bankruptcy IMO.

Then we now have Cerberus Group going pussy on Bushmaster and Remington, DPMS too and wanting to get out of the Gun Maker business after Sandyhook.

you know, I remember being taught in US history that part of the reason for the North's success during the Civil War was that the north was far more industrialized than the South and that the North had more firearms manufactures than South. I am not sure if there were any in the South but I know that they were dependent on the British for at least part of their supply of small arms. That is why the blockade was so effective.
The south was mainly agrarian with very few large cities.

This day in age it seems the tables are turned. The Yankees are driving all of the gun makers out of their territory into the south and the strong Union presence in the north has driven many other manufacturers south as well.

This time around things could be interesting.

On a cool little note it seems that Steyr has set up shop in Alabama.

I also hope Beretta gets out of Md., and comes south. I know the folks in a place like MS would love the jobs and work.

Actually it was like this. The City of Bridgeport CT had more industrial manufacturing than ALL of the Confederate states rolled together. The outcome was assured based on industrial power to make weapons of war alone.

On today's situation, it isn't as lopsided today as in 1861 but it still is not equal. The biggest help might be all the military bases in the Southern States ... IF they throw in with the revolution when it goes down.

You never know. Just read a piece a few minutes ago saying that Beretta is set to leave Maryland, so take it what it's worth.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought Ruger's main base of operations was Prescott, AZ....or somewhere in AZ.

Ruger moved production of some of it's line to Prescott, AZ quite a while ago. Bet they could move it all if they wanted to.

With Beretta just announcing they are leaving MD I can see Colt and S&W doing something similar.

You know a good place for Beretta would be SW Virginia. A lot of good folks there...the economy is pro-gun, and they would be able to get good quality workers. You know that area of Va. could use a bit of a economic boost.

Doubt it. Too much investment to just toss
