We have an early season that starts today. Bow season for a week, then muzzle loader for a week. I happen to be off today. But have a Dr.s appointment today. Plus, with only one day off a week. Too much stuff to do. Plus, I haven't had the time to get up to camp to scout things out. Plus, kinda too warm to be hunting.

Here in WV, it would make sense to have an extended season in January. That way, the DNR can get earlier revenue (people buying new hunting licsence). Plus more folks have time off in Jan. as well. Oh well what do I know.

A few years back, WV voted on Sunday hunting. We were able to do it for a year. Then it got voted out. Most folks around here like to go to church on Sundays. At the time I was off Mondays and Tuesdays. So, that year, Sunday after work, I would head to camp. Kill a deer, then sleep in on Monday.

BTW, I have been up at camp the Sunday before rifle season. You would be surprised at how many gunshots I hear.

Someday... When I'm finally done getting my degree... I will be able to hunt for some monster bucks 2 hours away in the Allegheny National Forest! I love it up there!

im still pissed off that they approved crossbows for use in archery season.

that was the main reason i liked archery. using a bow takes at minimum a small amount of skill and coordination, keeping a lot of the rifle hunting dumb fucks out of the woods for a while, now they will all be there with their crossbows wounding animals and shoting illegal deer.
