Fixed or folding?

For a tough as hell fixed blade the Becker BK-2 is hard to beat and one I've owned and used for years.

The Gerber LMF is another one that would provide good service.

Buck Nighthawk is a good one too though I prefer the models prior to the current one they are making in collaboration with TOPS

For a folder I'd suggest the good ole Buck 110

or the Buck CSAR-t

I'm kind of partial to this one. I over paid for it but I have been happy with the knife.

I kind of like a K-Bar. Can be had for @ $60 or less sometimes.

Nothing wrong with a KA-BAR.

I picked up one of these a couple of years ago and it's very well made. Don't know how it compares to the ones from WWII or Korea but IMO they are a good value.
