ATI makes a monte carlo style synthetic stock, msrp $89. I've handled these stocks in Cabalas. They look OK and feel more comfortable than the original mosin stock. The price was $65.

I would like one of the Archangel Mosin stocks. They are accepting pre orders at their website. MSRP $199. These look really nice with a removable box magazine.

Out of stock right now, but a cheaper alternative: http://www.classicfirearms.com/accessories/mosin-nagant-monte-carlo-black-polymer-stock

Looks like they are restocking and you can sign up for an email notice...

i googled mosin nagant stocks and got this:

I am a customizing noob when it comes to guns, I see that it says SKS. Would it be compatable with my Mosin nagant?

Check out http://www.boydsgunstocks.com

They have a couple different kinds - I like the classic: $92

That's the camo laminate but they have other types of wood too.

But really, what's wrong with the issue stock? I'd say to put the money into ammo and stripper clips for it.

I decided to go with the ATI Monte Carlo polymer stock. I got it from FedEx today and I really like it compared to the wooden stock. My question now is, can I paint it? One of my friends said something about an acid etching primer or something. I'm door I am really new at this and know next to nothing about it. So, any help I can get would be great. Thanks for all the help, and comments.
