Blue vs. Pink Envelopes?

What's the difference? And why are some opened and some closed?

Go back one level and look at the list of General Discussion threads. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and look at the lower left-hand corner. Your should see a box labeled 'Icon Legend'. This describes what each envelope represents.
