Wow, what can I say, I'm sitting here this lovely May afternoon, I've got a few of the windows in my office open , the breeze that occasional wafts in is fragrant with the blooms on my lilac bushes and the freshly mowed grass that I didn't have to cut because I made my kids do it, and I'm smoking an excellent cigar. Not any cigar, no this is a great smoke, one made that much better because it was gifted to me by a good friend. :)

This is the La Aroma De Cuba. I'm not sure the size, I'd say its a petite corona, say 5" x 42.

It has a beautiful band. Old world in style like I admire.

Anyway, on to the smoke. This cigar has a nice looking medium brown wrapper and smells of rich tobacco. At the onset I'm thinking this should be a good smoke. On lighting you can taste a bit of pepper, leather, cedar and coffee. It's really quite good from the first puff, thats impressive because many cigars, even good ones, can be harsh at the outset.

For the first half of this its rich in coffee, dark chocolate and leather. Now, in the 2nd half, I'm getting more chocolate, coffee and something like nutmeg. in the background now, if I puff too hard, theres a note of red pepper, this thing tells you to chill and enjoy slowly. This is a great cigar. Seriously, great!

I'm nubbing this thing now, it's getting kinda hot if I don't baby it some, but, if I'm careful, it still taste great.

This, in short, is a world class smoke. My guy CG, may burn things beyond my palate strength wise at times, but its obvious to me at this point that the man has excellent tastes in cigars and just flat knowns his stuff.

Dang, I really enjoyed this. CigarGuy, I'm really looking forward to trying the rest of em. You da man, Bro!!! :)

My pleasure, Jeffy!
Think there are 3-4 La Aroma's out there. This is the one without a second band or a foot band?
Just the band you show?

Yep, that's the one. I'll be scouring the interwebz looking for a box of these. This is simply a great smoke. :encore:

Thanks again.

From Ashton, but I'm confused. That one must be a 5th one, as the above link just shows 4 of them,
2 being Mi Amor's, which are quite tasty, the EE, and the one with the red foot band.

Yep. Its different than those shown. That first one had a band very similar to the EE, but of course without the EE 2nd label. But, in addition to that, there are minor color and font size differences as well. No, I believe it to be a different blend, it tasted different than the EE.

Both were damned good tho! ;)

Well, it looks like this mystery has been put to rest. It seems a while back the La Aroma cigars were made in Honduras at a different factory than the Pepin, Nicaraguan sticks. I don't know how much difference that may or may not make, but I do think since this stick had plenty of time to mature it probably improved it's flavor and smoothness. This was easily one of the better smokes I've had. I wonder if CigarGuy knows where more might be found? :gruebel: ;)
