Most days it's a locking folder. It might be an assisted opener or a flipper. Might be a frame lock, liner lock, axis or back lock. Might be titanium and or G10, wood and or brass or any combination thereof. It will have a blade between 3"-4" in length and it will be scary sharp or it won't be in my pocket. Speaking of in my pocket, if I'm carrying a locking folder the chances are at least 99% that it will be clipped tip up in my right front jeans pocket. A Buck 110 or 112 being the exception as either of those will be carried in a sheath.

I do carry a slipjoint from time to time, often in addition to what ever locking folder I'm carrying. Those will ride loose in my offside pocket. On occasion I'll have a necker or perhaps a smaller FB in a sheath but usually a locking folder is my knife of choice.

Personally I carry everyday but was just wondering when you all carry what type/style do you usually choose? TIA

Lately it's this little guy:

Might be their most ecconomic piece at @ $12 when I bought it two years ago. No frills. Plastic grips. Liner lock. Decent components though. Locks up tight! Can't complain.

The blade is the real selling point. It's 8CR13MOV Stainless which is pretty darn nice for it's price point. Sharpens razor fine and holds it's edge well. It's been a great utility knife and I like the broad blade profile. You get a decent length of edge despite the blade itself being so short.

Would reccomend!

Ah, a Kershaw Half Ton. Meant to get one of those when they first came out but just never did. I guess because it's a little shorter blade then i like I just never picked one up. How do you like it?

For the money I like it a lot! Probably the best "cheap" folder I've ever owned. No weird screws, so it's easy to adjust and maintain. The steel is great. I'd compare the edge to good old 1095 but it holds longer and doesn't corrode as easily. I've been pretty rough on it for a couple years and there's no discoloration or corrosion on the blade. Oh, and the steel is @ 1/8th of an inch thick with a burly drop point so it's tough enough to beat on.

One complant; A couple of the screws that secure the belt clip fell out on mine, but no biggie.

I bought it as a EDC tool when I lived in cali. Blades under three inches are legal for open carry there so most everybody has a small folder on them.

Good deal! A knife that doesn't break the bank and does what you need when you need it is what it's really all about. Bearing that in mind I've been considering a couple of Opinels. The design is extremely simple and the price (under $15 for most models) is a no brainer.

Classic design, man. Looks like they would be perfect for whittling wood. I like it!

Love my Rajah II. Had it in my pocket one day at work and one of the guys needed a knife. I waved it out of my pocket and thought he was gonna shit! "Damn, that's a knife"!
