I need to know if the headstamped POF 64 is Berdan or boxer primed.

Berdan

Even people reloading it from what I have heard don't like it because the brass wear out quickly.

Figures.
I know it's corrosive and loaded w/Cordite.
I won't shoot corrosive ammo in my rifles even though a good washing will neutralize the salts.
Guess I'll stick to loading commercial cases.

Thanks for the reply.

Nice photo of the cordite Slamfire51! On the POF .303 ammo. Yes Berdan and yes corrosive. No on reliable ammo, it has a high rate of duds and hangfires. Really the poorest quality .303 on the surplus market.

Its a damn shame all the Greek dried up. :crying:

Whos2kno took the pic after he pulled the bullet.

I'm really not interested in shooting the crap. I was hoping it was boxer primed.
No such luck.

I have some HXP 71 brass that are boxer primed. I've reloaded many of them years ago, and they gave good results.
I'm still in the hunt for more surplus boxer primed brass to reload.
New commercial brass is pricey, but not prohibitively expensive.
