Proposal Would Ban Guns From Public Areas In Maine

PORTLAND, Maine -- A proposed plan to ban guns from public places in Maine is stirring up a debate amongst Portland residents.
The Portland Public Safety Committee held a public hearing Tuesday night to discuss the plan proposed by committee chair Dan Skolnik.
Skolnik said that he wants to draft a resolution to the full council asking the state legislature to ban guns in certain public places.

Councilors call on Legislature to restrict guns
They will ask lawmakers to prohibit guns in publicly owned facilities where large gatherings are held.

PORTLAND - The City Council endorsed a resolution Monday night calling on the Legislature to prohibit firearms in publicly owned facilities where large gatherings are held.
The 6-1 vote came after a long public hearing in which gun advocates -- several wearing handguns in hip holsters -- and people who supported the resolution spoke.

Here we go again, the ninnies are afraid of guns so the unwashed public, rednecks, and bible thumping gun owners must go as unprotected. Just like the rest of the sheep for the benefit of the outlaws.

I think there's a document somewhere telling everyone Maine became the 23rd state on March 15, 1820.
