ok fella's i have a bolthead finally and need your advise.... when i assemble the bcg with the bolthead on and try to slide it in its not wanting to go so i figure i'm going to have to change the rollers out to get it to work. how in the hell do you figure the roller size i need??? another thing is when you put the bolthead on to get it to position correctly you have to line it up push back and turn for it to set correct???

First, congrats on getting the parts you need to get your H&K to be a rifle and not a paperweight. Second, I wish I could help you with bolt alignment. All I know is when I first got my MP5/HK94 I read the manual over and over, and somehow got all the parts lined up right to take it apart. Then when I went to put it back together, it took all I had to keep from throwing it away as it is not the most intuitive device to assemble and insert into the rifle. That was the first and last time I tried to take it apart. I don't shoot it enough to have it burned into my memory banks how it comes apart and reassembles.

My suggestion is to check Youtube to see if there is a "How To" which I would guess there are several.

I think you need to get it together before you can measure things to know if you have usable rollers. Good luck, they really are a pain.

Thanks for the link jojo! Further explains why I will never take apart the bolt assembly unless it is absolutely necessary to get the rifle functioning.

All credit to the guys on the HK forum. I tried responding but found myself writing a confusing novel. Besides pictures always help. Post some pics.

see i explained what i had to him and gave him a little info on the gun. when i seen the date on the bolthead i was amazed myself! he has been collecting hk's way before i was even born so there is no telling what all he has. i know the guys from hk pro told me to get intouch with him or a man named ghilliebear

Congrats!

Did you remember to remove the buffer from your bolt carrier?

silentkilla
06-06-2013, 04:11 PM
one more time partisian.... lol, the buffer in my bcg is the plunger with the spring on it right???

Correct.

It is the protrusion that is sticking out the rear end of the carrier.

when i take it out though and cock it back... and slap it home it does nothing without it in??? its just slides back and forth

silentkilla
06-06-2013, 04:25 PM
when i cock it it will take the bcg back but when you go to slap it home it has nothing for the tension to bring it back to chamber the round without the plunger in

You must have removed the return spring ;)

There is a little "nipple" that is sticking out. That is what needs to be removed.

lol!!! gotcha! see it now...... lol

Notice the carrier on the right.

See that protrusion or nipple to the left of the return spring. That is the buffer.

ok when you are looking at the pics it is the bcg on the right side that has the buffer on it to the left right....lol if so mine has it and how do you remove it partisian??

Partisan1983

Forget the buffer on the BCG for now...

Do not take this the wrong way....but I have been trying to piece together all your trial's and tribulations with your HK93 and something is bothering me, so hear me out.....

Take a pic of both sides of the receiver, so we can get a good look at the markings....before you post it, you can edit your pic to black out it's serial number..but leave the Date Code and the first two digits of the serial #......don't worry, no one can do any type of harm against you.....secondly, can you post a pic of the barrel markings.

Partisan1983

Do not panic, you have done nothing wrong....I am just concerned you might have been taken for a ride, because there are to many things that do not add up....

silentkilla
06-07-2013, 05:58 PM
i have no camera handy right now but here are the marking's on the reciever... first on the left side,1 hk93. 2 a1244 are the first 5 digits of the serial #. 3 IA date code. on the right side 1. made in germany. 2 hk inc. 3 Arl. va 22201. 4 kal.223.... the barrel markings are HJD

Did you get a fixed HK stock with a metal endcap (where it meets the receiver)?

silentkilla
06-08-2013, 12:05 PM

Partisan1983

I wouldn't worry about removing the buffer from the BCG, then. It will never touch anything.

Just remember though if you change to another different buttstock one day, you will have to remove it.

It is kinda of a pain in the ass to do, if you want to keep re-useable LOL

oh yeah partisian, i checked my bolt gap by some of the hk pro boys directions and.... first i cocked it back. then slapped it home.. pulled the trigger.. flipped the gun up side down and started witha .010 feeler gauge. ended up at a .015 boltgap. they said happy shooting and good luck i have a perfect boltgap.

Partisan1983

That will work.

.25mm MIN

.45mm MAX

Forgot to mention....

The LP (locking piece) affects both bolt gap and timing. So it sounds like your LP is good (bolt gap wise).

Unless you buy a RDIAS one day, you shouldn't ever have to worry about timing issues.

oh shit..... lol, where do i find some metric feeler gauges??? the ones i have are starret feeler stock gauges for millright work...

On the old forum, I had a thread, for all the LP's...not just German made ones, but for many other licensed factories around the World.

There were plenty of gaps....since HK was born outta the Cold War and all ;)

I hear ya on spare time...been averaging only 2 days off a month for a bit over 4 years now....(obviously I use vacay days when they let me)

Nobody can get anything off the old forum unfortunately....

I also had a lot of shit in my life that started to happen one after another beginning with the summer of '08.....and it never stopped until fall of '12, during those four years I never bought or paid attention to anything small arm related...I sold stuff off that whole time, quit paying attention to all the things online that were small arm related, etc. etc. etc.
