Howdy, campers. Are we all happy and such? I'm doin okay this fine afternoon. Got the kids out mowing the lawn and pulling weeds while I'm sitting here smoking a fine cuban and enjoying a glass of decent scotch. Ha!

Anyway, I recently bought a box of these bad boys. These IMO are a decent value, if bought by the box its a $7.00 smoke. No yard gar obviously, but you can easily spend more for lesser smokes from a different country.

I guess I'd call the Party D-4 a medium to medium/full smoke. They start fairly brash, all pepper and scorched earth, but quickly settle into a solid medium cigar that stands up really well to any whisk(e)y in my cabinet.

No, once these settle in you get a little earthy cedar, some leather and sweet tobacco and the occasional touch of spice and floral notes. These are more complicated than the 4 or 5 dollar cuban smokes, but you'd expect that in a little more expensive cigar. I've smoked a few of these since I got em and a few of them have even thrown the occasional vanilla/caramel flavor. These are good, real good. ;)

Have a good weekend kids! :santa2:

You know, I like Ralfy and all, but he doesn't understand corn and rye for fuck. If it doesn't taste remotely of a dumpster fire, he doesn't recognize it as whiskey. Poor fuck from a 3rd world country. :bull:

LMAO...I have tried some damn good whisky based on his reviews. I like the heavily peated Islas. I don't always agree 100% though either. Now on to the Partagas Serie D #4. WOW!!! FUCK!!! A little mild as you stated but very very good. My tasting notes include floral or even incense, hay, spice. One critique...tough draw. I wonder if that is due to the way you packaged them? I started with a V cut and went to a full cap cut...still tight. Maybe a few weeks in the humidor to relax. Either way...thank again bro. Very satisfying stogie!

Nice! ;)

When I opened the D4 box I had decided right there and then to smoke one. That first one was really tight, in fact I had to take an awl to it to get it to open up. Thats commie labor for ya. Other than that first one the rest I've smoked have had a good draw, so thus far 2 tight ones. It'll be interesting to see how the whole box goes.

On another note, its weird, yesterday the scotch was tasting damned good to me, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but a month from just smelling it may make me want to wretch.

Thanks for sharing, fellas. Enjoyed the reads.
Those come in original box? Curious as to box code....
And it seems the the Habanos STILL have the draw problems. That was common
Back in the day, but still?

June '12. That's what I was curious about. A little young, then.

Yep. These are allegedly one of the better ones to smoke young. I can get older boxes from FOH, but at about a $30 premium.
