Rob does this event at the end of his fiscal year or he gets brutalized by taxes.

I don't mind.

Got a box of the Behike-25. A cigar I figured I'd never smoke.

Punch Double Corona.

I'm stoked!!! The roll over continues. Were these purchases cheap? Fuck no! But, I did save some coin by shopping.

When I'm done with this, my price per stick may actually go down. Think on that a moment.

70 smokes in all. Fuck, who needs a bomb? I need space. Its math, really.

Dude, put me together a sampler of those four and let me know the $. Say maybe 2 of each or something like that.

You guys are going to get me smoking cigars again if you don't stop talkiing about different ones all the time. I am trying to quit chewing (down from 7 cans of Kodiak a week to 3, but not sure I am actually chewing less as I just keep a samller dip in longer), and I can see it already. I will stop chewing then be smoking 2-3 cigars a day. That will be going the opposite direction on saving money and stoping the nicotine habit.

Jimminy Crickets, Jeffy! A finer haul I've rarely seen. All about a year old?

Lets see, 3 are mid 2012, one is Feb 2013. The other 3 I'd have to look up via my e-mail folder, but IIRC were 2012. I know a lot of people go out of their way looking for older boxes, but it jumps the cost up and thus far I've had great luck with the recent production.

Its a little bit of cash sure, but price per stick is cheaper than walking into a B&M and buying Fuentes and NC Montecristo's.

Now I just need to get this card paid off before the end of next month so the wife doesn't have a cow. ;)

Anyone know what they're paying for blood these days?

I'm afraid I have no words of wisdom to share, I've been a nicotine fiend since the age of 12. I started chewing Skoal then and its been all down hill since. ;)

Very nice haul. I used to smoke those Punch stogies but for some reason my local shops stopped carrying 'em. I guess that's why the internetz is here. ;)

Just for clarity, there are two Punch cigar companies. The ancient Cuban one, and the post revolution company that's in the DR IIRC.

These come from the outfit in Havana. ;)

The good with the bad....

Good: Went ahead and snagged a box of these. The corona I had was great and these are supposedly superb.

San Cristobal La Punta, a nice big torpedo.

The bad: On the first night of the sale, a box (full box) of Esplendido's popped up for sale. I tried to grab them but got beat to the punch by another guy. Well, the a-hole backed out of the purchase so they put them back up and I of course wasn't online at the time. Sheesh!

Ya know, I'm still pissed about the box of Esplendido's. :smiley09:

My understanding of current policy is that yes, technically they are contraband in violation of the embargo enacted in 1960. In practice however a few sticks for personal use is not really on the radar. If you got caught bringing in a boat load or plane load you'd be fucked. I may be wrong but this is how I understand things are viewed today.

Not "technically". They ARE illegal. Customs has the authority to confiscate whenever they come across any being
shipped into the country.
Now, "technically" you can't even buy them for personal use when you are in any other country in the world, as that
is still considered "trading with the enemy" as your purchase, ultimately, funds the Cuban government.

A few boxes do get seized by Customs and the person they were intended for get "the letter" from Customs explaining the error of their ways and that they must stop this tom foolery.

Shenanigans. I knew a retired fed that was ordered by a judge to burn a shipment of seized cubans...so he did. He was still working on it well into his retirement, but he took the judges order seriously. :laughingtohard:

Being the loyal American that I am, I fully intend to destroy every last one of this foul commie smokes too. ;)

I dunno, its obviously a bunch of balderdash, we won't trade with Cuba, but are allowing ourselves to be dismantled by the Red Chinese? Makes sense to me. :smiley_freak:
