Ok, boys. Sorry 'bout that. UPS was late and I had to get outta here, so I got it and ran without posting.
Anyways, it's here, repackaged, and I'll take it to my guy for UPS shipping at lunch today. I won't be
back here(work) after that, so I'll post up the shipping # over the weekend on the iPad, while on the back
porch, smoking and sipping away............
So, here's the damage-
Takes:
Fausto
Bait Fish
Oliva V in that funky size
Bolivar Corona

Puts:
La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amore
Don Pepin Blue Lable Panatella
Nestor Miranda Panatella
Ashton VSG-CRA edition
La Riqueza(a Pete Johnson/Pepin cigar)
Fuente Hemingway
Illusione i9
Padron 1926 Torp
Bolivar Petit Corona

Couple Panatella's in there, if you've never tried one and always wanted too. They'll both be medium to full, however. If not,
Jeffy will end up with them.

The Opus is a 'medium' stick, and rather subtle. Something smooth with no bold flavors would probably be best. That blue label Johnny Walker would work great I'd imagine. That, would certainly be a decadent, top shelf pairing! If that isn't worth a review, nothing is. ;)

Yeah, restaurants & bars where you can light up are pretty much non-existant in IL anymore. There's a real nice place in the village where I'm at that has a huge beer garden and guys would smoke cigars there. All verboten now, which is why most of my smoking is done on my porch/patio or at friends' houses these days.

However...there is also a good cigar shop in the village as well, where I buy a lot of my stuff. The owner Anthony has a nice smoking area up front by the picture window with leather club chairs....great for checking out the babes walking by in their summer getups. :cigarsmoking:

A shoutout to Matt for hooking me up w/ the magnificent Monte Cristo. I smoked it the other evening on the porch. Shades of coffee, leather, and "earth". A really full-bodied, flavorful, smoooth smoke, the kind that gets you feeling sorry for the campesinos living down in the valley in their grass huts. ;)

Again, this stogie Round Robin has been a lot of fun, and broadened my cigar chops.

I reported this @$$#*!3 to the board (as did Richard Simmons). One of the Admins will nuke them shortly. I propose a smoke in celebration when that happens!

I am, I'm in Estes Park, well actually we're like 6 miles out at a RV park. ;)

I'm setting here online and glancing up and a couple snow covered peaks, it's beautiful here! We were in RMNP this afternoon hiking in a meadow and *bam* a thunderstorm came over the mountains from the west and caught us about a mile from the truck. The rain is one thing, but I could have done without the hail. :smiley_freak:

It was a haul getting here. Drove about 8 hours Monday to Alma Nebraska and spent the night by the lake, then another 6 hours yesterday to get here. We did pretty good, got here at the campground at around 1:30 in the afternoon. The views here are breathtaking!

It's getting kind of cool here as evening approaches, I'd say it's around 65 with a good bit of breeze.

Gonna fish tomorrow after I get Matt and I fishing licenses bought. Those things are fricken pricey at like $55 each.

I think I'm going to break out my flask and smoke a Hoyo. You boys behave in my absence. ;)

Will do, sir! ;)

Got up at 5:30 this morning with the intent to fish. Before I got coffee ready it started raining, so, I went back to bed and slept another couple hours.

The weather here is quite interesting. At home you can see most fronts coming in from a good distance and you can sense impending rain long before it falls. Here, your horizon is like 3 miles away and it can go from sunny with just a light breeze, to windy with lightening, rain and hail in a matter of minutes.

Another thing I've noticed is the relatively small insect population. You see caddis and mayflies at the waters edge, but away from the water you see just the occasional knat or fly. I haven't seen a skeeter yet and the flies tend to keep their distance.

I really like this area and it's easy to see why so many others do as well. Some of the places people manage to build cabins and lodges is amazing! I'll get some pics of a couple behind us here. How they get material up to these locations I have no idea.

I've decided to hold off shipping the bundle back to you till the end of this month. The smokes are comfortably resting in a nice dry, cool area of my finished basement. I figured better that than some 100-degree MO post office mailroom. I just hope there's no "shrinkage" that occurs in the boxes, till then. :cigarsmoking: :cigarsmoking: ;)

Cool! ;)

I'll tell you something, seriously, big changes in altitude can have some odd effects on a person. Some of our excursions required a bit of hiking, but as long as the altitude remained fairly consistent it wasn't a big deal, tho once you get above about 9,500' you can really tell the air is getting a little thinner. But, on hikes where you change altitude say 1,500' in both directions (obviously) you'd notice it that day some during the hike, but it would be that night or maybe not until the next morning that you'd get an odd tiredness that's hard to explain. I understand that I'm getting older, hell I just turned 54, but this is different, walking/hiking shouldn't leave you dead armed, or make you want to sleep 12 hours. :smiley_freak:

Yeah, spending time in high altitudes can mess with your equlibrium. I was out in Tahoe last summer for a week & we did quite a bit of hiking up in the mountains there. When I got back here in the flatlands it took me a few days to get my "prairie legs" back, lol.

There is something to it, I now have no doubt. Its not a huge deal, but it is noticeable.

I have successfully shipped, in the same box, 2 bottles of whiskey along with a bottle of tequila, plus a bottle of wine. Shipped it via UPS (insured) and had no problems. I just use bubble wrap and fill any voids with wadded up newspaper.

It can be DONE! ;)
