Not cheap, but the best sharpener I've ever seen.

I wish I had a photo of my knife sharpener in my shop (just for a laugh) It is an industrial sharpener from the 1940s-1950s used in chicken houses and slaughter houses. I use it for hatchets, axes, knives etc..... I can make an axe shave with it. It weighs about 20 lbs and has a 22 inch belt. It's perfect for getting the angle correct on your knife but I'm certain that your knives wouldn't be family heirlooms after repeated use.

http://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Pocket-Stone-With-Pouch/dp/B0056YNQRO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_4 Fits in my pocket, and makes knives sharp. I added some quarter micron diamond paste to one side of the pouch, and use it like a paddle strop for that ultra sharp edge.

The warthog v-sharp thingy does work, but I prefer to freehand it. The cheap pull through wedge things? Keep those the fuck away from my knives!!!

The Spyderco Sharpmaker is still my go to sharpener for every day touch-up.
