OK, got to the range today with the 10-22. Again, this has a Boyd's "Blaster" stock, Timney Trigger, old graphite Butler Creek barrel and 4x Nikon Prostaff rimfire scope.

Here it is ready to go with the three brands of ammo that I tested shown:

Here's the winner (no surprise) Wolf Match Target (these are all at 50 yards):

And the runner up (Winchester Expert HV):

And the one it didn't like - Federal Target Grade:

So, pretty dang good. Nothing to bitch about.

Love the Timney Trigger.

I like the front support on your rifle rest. I use to have one of them outters and used it to shoot my 338 mag on. Broke one of the welds.

So now i have a CTK Precision.

How dirty is the Wolf?

Wolf is not really Wolf - its packed by Ely for Wolf and it didn't seem dirty at all - but did have a different odor...

Good stuff though - I see why people tout it.

Oh, and BTW, if you look at the target pics - and see the tape? Those holes are from my 50 yard Ruger Mini 14 testing... I got three 1" +/- groups at that range...

Really??
I'll have to get some an give it a try.

Looks like the 10/22 is doing a nice job. Congrats.

I have my 10/22 still in the same stock since I got it nearly 30 years ago.I want to build or buy a dedicated target 10/22.

Looks good.

I need to get a 10/22, that thing is pretty slick!

It's a lot like building or adding stuff to an AR. Everything is modular and comes apart with punches or an allen wrench (the barrel is just held on with a wedge block).

I really like the ergonomics of the Boyd stock and it was really inexpensive at $80. They have another more rakish model that goes for $95 or something like that. It was completely drop in - no muss, no fuss.

The trigger was also just a switch-out and the barrel likewise.

Yep - its Ely but at a much better price. They make a grade better than this too for another buck or so a box of 50. I got mine from Grafs. A lot of guys that run "race gun 10-22's" for competition swear by this ammo.
