I received my letter from the VA denying my claim of agent orange exposure which caused my prostate cancer. The morons at the VA said there was no proof that I was in Vietnam so the claim was denied. Well, the claim was for exposure at U-Tapao air base in Thailand, not Vietnam. The VA's own ruling is herbasides were used in Thailand around the air bases but it was ignored by whoever reviewed the claim. If the morons had actually read the claim and supporting documents, they would have known this. Now to appeal.....chris3

Yes, my condolences on the shitty ruling. It seems the VA's goal is to stall until the vets die so they don't have to pay. It boils my blood thinking about the way they treat you guys!

Many adjudicators and staff at the VA have made careers out of denting claims. The less they award the veterans , the more they can hand out to each other in bonuses. Keep plugging away at it.

I read somewhere in the last year or so that the average number of claims a person submits to VA for medical problems is 5. The first is denied then the rest are either denied or more information is requested prior to the claim being approved.

Sorry for the denial but don't give up.

Keep filing, try to get any records you can get. And remember, if and when your claim goes through, it is retroactive from the date you originally filed. Sometimes takes years unfortunately. However, it seems to me that in the past year, the gobment has made an effort to speed things along. Maybe they finally realized that some day they may need more warm young bodies, to send off on a killing spree, and if they don't take care of the ones they are using now, they might have a hard time finding any in the future.

They do not like to award anything to anybody who was in Thailand or Guam loading bombs destined for VN. Many, many airmen and soldiers in those two countries at the time have been screwed out of benefits for yrs, but they sure as hell loaded the B-52s and F-4s daily for bomb runs into VN. Service members who served there have been given the shaft forever.,

Thanks for the support, guys. The VA just screwed up. The VA's own web site says Thailand bases were exposure areas on or near the base perimeter. My work area was outlined on three sides by the perimeter fence. We will see...chris3
