SVD cleaning kit

Just got my SVD cleaning kit from robertrtg.com. They are used so I knew it wouldn't be in perfect condition. I have a .30 cal brass brush so its ok the brush with this is shot. Now I can take off the gas block :)

Cool! I did not know a tool was required to remove the gas block. A picture would be interesting.

Thanks, I am familiar with the rifle and gas block, just not familiar with why the tool is required, where it fits and what the tool does

I guess you could use a cressent wrench or open ended wrench to take it off. I just wanted the proper tool. Just push down on the lever and unscrew the gas block with the tool on the square part of the gas block.
