So the wife is off this week and we had a taste for bbq. Took a ride into the city to try a place that had been recommended to me. Fat Willy's BBQ Shack. Had an awesome plate of brisket and she got a rack of baby backs. Both were outstanding...truly excellent bbq. There was a table of 6 coppers there so I had faith that it would be good. Coppers know the best eating spots:lool:. Afterwards we drove along the lakefront, grabbed a Starbucks and took it all in. Here is a shot of Navy Pier as the fog is beginning to burn off. This town is a love/hate thing for me. I guess you take the good with the bad.

So we got home a while ago and all this has put me in the mood for a cigar. The Feral Pig was calling my name. This thing is another fatty, 60 ring. Beautiful dark oily wrapper with a pig-tail that reminds me of Arturo Fuente Curly Heads. This cigar is great. Hits all the right notes. Pepper, coffee, dark chocolate, just a little bit sweet. No off-putting flavors. Full body with thick creamy smoke. A winner. I will buy these.

Nice! ;)

You and the better half got to run around together, had a good meal, then come home and have a decent smoke. That, is a good day.

What did you pair it with?

GREAT day!

The pairing was much less exciting I'm afraid. Early Times with a splash of coke. Don't judge me...LOL. :smiley20:

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Yeah, the love-hate thing w/ Chi. Despite all the criticism by the rustics who have never set foot there, it's a world-class city built on an inland sea. I've had some of the best times of my life in the city over the last 32 years or so....too bad the Machine is hell bent on destroying it w/ runaway tax hikes & unchecked illegal immigration.

Yeah, what I call the rustics. The log cabin and trailer dwellers whose idea of Chi (or Shitcongo as they often call it) looks like some 3rd-world Mogadishu-style shithole. They've never been to a big city in their lives and are afraid they'll be murdered or ass-raped the minute they fall off the turnip truck on Michigan Ave. You know, by the nig-nogs. ;)

Thats cool, I guess, but uh, bro, theres a bunch more to America than concrete.

Personally, I wouldn't live anywhere near a major city.

Like Ten said, it's a love/hate thing.

I live in a leafy, quiet suburb about a dozen miles outside the city. I wouldn't actually live in Chi iteslf for all the tea in China. It is nice tho to be able to jump on the train & be down there in 25 minutes or so if I want, for bizness or pleasure. :)

We actually go to Milwaukee quite a bit. I'm pretty familiar with the city as I grew up there. I spend less and less time in Chicago the older (less tolerant) I get.

El Jefe, that looks like heaven to me!

No, there toward the center you can see a group of 3 standing in the fog, thats the boys and I waiting for the horn to sound at 6:00, so we can begin fishing. At Bennett you can fish from 6 to 6. Same deal at Roaring River and Montauk.

I'm the one that always swallows the bone in fresh water fish. Oh, and the one that gets the
plugged cigar in the box.

Is there anything worse than a plugged cigar? Not many.
