I mailed the Form 4 for my Thompson Machine Poseidon 9mm suppressor yesterday. This is my first time going the living trust route.

Now I'm trying to find a threaded barrel for my XDM 3.8 9mm. The only thing I've seen is a "coming soon" message on EFK Firedragon's website (they haven't responded to my e-mail asking about a timeframe).

That's a huge suppressor. What's the deal?

Also, I looked around for a threaded barrel and, well, I couldn't find one. But I do have a lead for you. Contact these guys and see what they can do for you: http://www.barsto.com/index.cfm

Already e-mailed them, no response so far. I did get a response from Storm Lake about availability at the end of the month, so it looks like they will be getting my money.

The suppressor is actually tiny, the pic makes it look bigger than it is.

lmao!

I'll be the one laughing when you end up in Texas!

When are you taking the plunge into stamp collecting, by the way? You're in a state where you can now.

Ordered my threaded barrel today. Storm Lake just started making them for the XD(m) 3.8 9mm.

Nice going!! My last NFA transfer took five months, but it was straight and not for a Trust. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes. Please keep us posted.

Cool. I've read very good things about Thompson Machine products.

I'm tempted to order one.
I'd like to get the paperwork back
for my EVO-9 first.
3 months and still "pending"...
:)

Stamp approved! 53 days. Picking it up on Thursday.

On the down side, I can't shoot it because the paperwork came back faster than the threaded barrel.

Picked up my EVO-9 yesterday.
4 months and one day from mailing...whew!
My other 2 stamps took 3 months.
I can't wait to get to the range...or somewhere closer...
:)

Humm ... never heard of that brand before. Looks kind of funky with that round Bratwurst looking shape at the ends.

Edite: Went and looked them up. I am impressed by their designs and their low costs. I like how they are all disassembleable.

I refer to the Poseidon as the "big grey Tylenol."

Thinking about a QMF in desert tan to go on my tan ParaOrdnance.

This thread has piqued my interest in NFA. I want a suppressor now.

...my experience is that you can't stop at one...
...in my case SKS, AK, Makarov & Mosins.
I started a year ago and already have 3 NFA items (suppressors)...ordering another next month.

It is very cool shooting suppressed. Only thing that would be more cool would be full auto suppressed! :)

I finally got a chance to take my XD(m) 3.8 9mm with a Thompson Machine Poseidon suppressor to the range. I's quieter than you would expect for such a small can, but nowhere near as quiet as my THM Cobra .45 (the Cobra is also three times the size of the Poseidon). The XD(m) 3.8 and the Poseidon seem to make a nice combination, size-wise. It sounded a little louder than an unsuppressed .22. It performed flawlessly with Cor-Bon 147gr. It didn't like American Eagle 147gr at all. The slide didn't lock back on the last round with either type of ammo, not a surprise with a suppressed pistol. The suppressor initially shifted point of impact about 8" below point of aim at 10yd. This eventually drifted up to around 4-5" below point of aim as I continued to shoot the pistol. I think it's probably because of the wipes. As I shot more, the rounds wore a better hole through the wipes, and point of impact drifted up closer to point of aim. Shooting a suppressed pistol will get you dirty, especially so with this one. Way more than with the suppressed .45 that I have. I got a good coat of oil and carbon on my hands and face today.

That's a pretty significant shift. Yeah, the wipes.
I've tried my EVO-9 and it's suppressed .22 quiet when wet.
I need to get to the range and see how the shift is.
Fortunately the EVO-9 lets you adjust for it.
