Guns Network Membership is Growing Daily
Still working on various small projects.


We want to THANK YOU ALL for registering with us once again. We are seeing more and more members registering back up on a daily basis. Many of our members are starting to feel the old flavor come back, as it is quite obvious by the recent posts stating this fact. There are still tens of thousands of members who have yet to find us but finding us now just got easier. The good news is Alex has fixed our 404 error pages. All of the older links that many over the years have saved under there "favorites" will now point to the newer Guns Network website URL's. This is how many have found us recently, as our older architecture is different from the new. Last month alone showed us we had a serious problem on our hands, we had over 414,497 page hits of 404 errors. WOW, talk about word getting out but no one could find us.

Many of you are members of other gun communities where many of our former members have gone to. All we are asking is to PM them and let them know we are back online, let them make the decision to come back and register. As far as the older databases, they are in litigation. If we ever come to an agreement where we end up receiving back our intellectual property back in our possession. We will start the process of working up the plans to merge the older databases into the current databases on our newer forums.

As we mentioned in last months News email, our newest Systems Admin is Alex. Alex - "I've been doing Sys-Admin / Programming work for about 15 years, certified by SUN Microsystems. My Sys-Admin work is 100% Linux/Unix based." He has done a phenomenal job getting our servers up and running. He also has a lot of hours in setting up all the sub-systems and the different software packages we use to keep Guns Network up and running. When you get the opportunity, thank him. He has his own forum "Update/Upgrade Info Forum" for problems that might pop up. If he is upgrading or backing up the forums he will announce it here several hours prior to taking Guns Network offline. If you have a question for him about something wrong with the forum, you can go to that forum and ask Alex.

We are working on new advertisers to come on board and some have very recently signed back up with us. Please welcome back Cope's Distributing & Blackjack Buffers. Many more will be coming on board towards the end of the year due to most have spent there advertising money already for the 2010 year.

There is currently a movement in wanting to help us financially. Since Guns Network is starting fresh, we thought we would share with you more details of the business. Back in June once we got the OK from our attorney's. We had to order all new HP Proliant rack servers (w/ 5 year warranties), server rack, remote backup, hardware, internet line (3 year contract), start up costs and Alex our System Admin. have all come at a large cost. Some members have already either mailed in their contributions or have used our PayPal donations page to contribute THANK YOU. IF every member today could contribute at least $20.00 right now this will help us pay down our startup costs of $10,382 in accounts payables (our current debts) and put money in the bank for monthly operating expenses. About 70% of this was start up costs and will not reoccur. Much of this hardware was put on a credit card and the remaining debt we are overdue in paying back. Thankfully our monthly overhead is very manageable as I signed a three year contract on the internet lines. Bottom line we are in debt but, LOL we are in control of the servers and not some third party. This movement in helping us financially will help us tremendously as many of our current advertisers will not renew until January 2011. So if you are capable of helping us right now you can by contributing or renewing your membership tier level.
