The SiG 553P I bought last January, dropped the the form 4 in the mail on 1/31/13 and got my stamp 12/02/13.

For compliance parts I had picked up an 556-DMR lower as well as a stripped 556 lower that will take the folding stock that I'd planned on switching the FCG over to ... now I'm not so sure.

A poster on another form gave me heads up the other day that I'd only be able to use Pmags, because regular AR mags won't lock in ... I have plenty of Pmags and I really like the DMR trigger ... and to be completely honest I'm not big on rock-in mags although the SiG ones are the best if that's what your going to do, and I have a few of those too.

Anyway, here's the way she sits now ... the difference in feel between my 556P-SBR and this one is amazing, it just ooozes smooth :)

I've been told both ways about compliance parts by the ATF ... To me it makes sense that NFA wouldn't have to conform to 922r as NFA trumps "sporting weapons" but I'm not willing to be a test case either.

The last agent I spoke with said the need for compliance parts is dependant on what you are SBR-ing. When I re-SBR'd a previously owned LEO 552, it was originally imported as a SBR, then made into a title one weapon that had a "permanently" installed barrel extension so when I re-SBR'd it, it did not have to conform to 922r because I only removed the extension.

With the 553P (pistol) I added parts (the stock) and made it a new weapon, an SBR carbine.

In the end, I would rather use the Pmag anyway and the compliance parts come with that option ... needed or not.

I've got a early 556 pistol I SBR'd and run with an TA01 NSN ACOG, so I'm thinking I'll leave this one plain but just in case I change my mind I have a Brügger & Thomet rail so if I want to add an optic later I can.

Yeah small phone screen was why I couldnt see the 556. I have the TA01, but not NSN. On a MP15T, great glass and like how it has John 3:16 on there. But super sweet rifle, looks like it would fill the handy rifle role, maybe a sling. Id like to get an sbr and its on the list of stuff to get. But saw a Bulgarian Arsenal 101 at the fun shop, Ive been looking for one for a long time, so within the next few days ill be up there to put it on layaway.
