Except for the people in the Sierra Mountain ranges which get tons of wind and snow, Californians aren't used to SUPER cold weather like the rest of the nation, especially east of the Rockies. Now it's uncomfortably cold here on the West coast, but NOTHING compared to what some of you guys are used to.

So How COLD is it where you live?

I think some of the guys here are record breakers as far as weather extremes! :freeze:

BTW, another reason why I asked is because my house heater system broke down. I need an HVAC guy to come out here. But right now, I'm in an UNHEATED house. LOL. I would be DEAD if I lived where some of you guys lived! :D

Same here CB.
St. Louis got to 67 today, about 10* higher than had been forecast. By Thursday night, the low is forecast to be 12* with a Saturday high of 21.

And "winter" doesn't even start for almost two weeks!

Our lows are in the mid-30s which is about the limit as to how cold it gets at sea level in CA. Jeez. I don't get how some of you guys can even tolerate the NEGATIVE numbers.

It isn't that hard, just put on head gear and a good pair of thermal coveralls. Most of us here chase Elk in this weather. As to backup heat, I have a good size propane tent heater for backup. Trust me, you get used to it!
BTW, at DIA it hit -15.

The Media has lost ALL credibility with pretty much everything. Their contiuation of the Global Warming hoax is an example. The entire global warming 'crisis' is merely a wealth re-distribution scheme by the socialist/marxists liberals. They hijacked legitimate concerns about the environment with a new age 'religion" of Global Warming. Their entire scheme, like the Carbon Credits bullshit, is to take money from rich countries and re-distribute it to poor countries. That's called COMMUNISM. :(

Well in the winter of 1978 in my home state of Indiana a massive blizzard hit. We had way below zero temps, -47 wind chills.
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ind/?n=blizzardof78

The first ever Blizzard Warning for the entire state of Indiana was issued at 3:45 PM EST on January 25th. A heavy snow warning had been issued 12 hours earlier. Winds would approach 50 mph or more by midnight and continue through the 27th. Temperatures would plummet to a low of zero during the storm, with wind chills approaching -50 on the old wind chill scale. Snowfall rates of nearly one half to as much as one inch per hour were not in and of themselves remarkable, but the duration of the heavy snow was. Significant snowfall lasted about 31 hours at Indianapolis and would be followed by continued cold and high winds. This hampered recovery and relief efforts, leaving much of Indiana crippled for days. In all 15.5 inches of snow would fall at Indianapolis, which combined with the snow already on the ground, would bury the city under 20 inches of snow. In other areas, up to 3 feet of snow fell. The howling winds would push drifts up to as much as 20-25 feet. Visibilities would remain at or below one quarter mile for 25 hours.
At this time "Experts" were predicting another iceage. Now these same "Experts" have been bloviating about Global Warming. Bottom line ... it's just weather and these so called experts don't know Jack about what is really going on.

I just finished talking with my friend in New England.

He said that since early Saturday morning the snow has been waist high and is still falling....

His wife has done nothing but look through the kitchen window.

He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in...
