i expected more from the 2000-MR. i was dissapointed in the lack of temperature stability. The 4000-MR did way better in that respect.

Yeah, I can understand that. I like Varget because it is temp stable. Then again down here in Georgia I'm not going to see the -10°F that you did ... ever. It might work OK down here as we rarely get below 40 for long.
