I have a friend who's Wife's father was a big gun collector, and needless to say they aren't so I reap the rewards.

Picked this up yesterday for a very nice price, and thus started my AK addiction.

new stock and some accessories already on order for it, as well as a new furniture kit

Not sure (pic is dark) but that looks like it might be a SAR-1, with that scope rail on the side. Somebody else here would be able to say though.

It kinda chose me lol, for the price I got it for, and I happened to have the cash in my pocket, I don't think anyone could have said no :D


Plus I know the source where it came from so I don't have to worry about a cheap gun being used in a murder or something crazy like that lol

modified it a bit, looks like this now

Gonna mod the trigger, do some polishing, and find an optic for it next.

That folding thing is kinda not my thing.
...but it's your rifle...I've been through all that "tinkering"!
You could ask around here for some wood.

I had wood on there, I'm more of a modern look type guy, which is why I went with the folding/sliding stock. Plus its easy enough to change out if I wanna go back I can!

Heh I am um upgrading lol, and that sir is a sick rifle as well!

I like your stock too, I may look in to that, the issue with the folding sliding one I have on my is that at the lowest setting its about perfect, but with the knuckle that allows it to fold, it adds about 4" overall, so the sliding part is pretty much useless unless you are like 6'4" and have long arms. I unfortunately top the height chart at 5'8" and do not have long arms lol


Question for you, the mount for you're site, what is that called? (Newb question I know) I would like to incorporate that in to my "upgrades" as well

That's a K-Var 04 model , around $100 bucks but built solid and always returns to zero....
It's a little high over the bore , but hasn't effected my accuracy. It is centered over the bore . Look out when shopping some mounts are not directly over the bores line of sight....
