This site has been as slow as cold molasses the past month or so. I attributed it to many users being logged on at once. I dunno........

At the bottom left of the screen you can change that setting to any you want. Where it says blackend.

no problem. I had to actually ban IP's since bots dont listen to rules. MSNBot (Microsoft) is the main culprit. I dont see why Microsoft bothers...I dont know of anyone who actually uses anything other than Google.

As of today, this morning I am not having the problems I was having yesterday when I tried to block a few spammers and open threads.

Last night clicking on a thread link would open a new window as it should, but that arrow chasing it's tail would just go round and round and the page sometimes didn't even build.

Today no problem.

It has taken one half hour to open this window, and right now I doubt it will post, but I can hope.

It started over an hour ago when I tried to reply with quote. The page did not load. I stopped the build and backspaced to the thread and tried again, with the same results.

I then tried to get to the "New Post" listing which took several minutes to load. In that time I got an email with a reported thread. I tried loading the site from the email URL but no joy, the arrow just went round and round with no page build.

I closed that window and after several minutes the new post listing loaded, so I tried to get to the forum listing to open this thread and nothing.

I then cleared all cookies and histories and the log in page came up and I was able to long in, but the forum took several minutes to build. I tried again to read the reported post but the new window gave me the message that unable to connect to gunsnet.

As stated above after a looooong time I was finally able to get to this thread, but on clicking on the reply button, again a long wait. I finally stopped the build and the reply window opened, hence this message.

I might be the only one having issues, but then again...

And now to see if this posts to the thread!

By the way, that is not how I typed it. Everyone who knows my style knows that I use proper spacing to make it easier to read. This comes from someone who is dyslexic and needs proper spacing and paragraphing to be able to easily interpret what is written.

Just had to log off and clear cookies to get the site work past a crawl. Once I logged back in it's fine. Go figure.

Clearing cookies did an amazing job of speeding things up. Fastest the sites been in I don't know how long. Maybe I should just log off and back in every time?

I've been experimenting with "turnkey software" that integrates with Linux and IPTables to help me block bots etc.. saves me time, supposedly. Shit doesnt work...so I had to do it manually... I got a way that works now.
