Good looking rifle. If I may ask, why the muzzle break instead of a flash supressor?

I note he lists his location as California, so it's probably safer to have a brake than a flash suppressor.

That would make sense, I should have noticed that.

That was my dad's gun too. He was in Vietnam starting July of 67, First Marine Division. He never set foot in a Jungle. He fought in rice paddy country around Da Nang.

I have a USGI/ Norinco M14 myself.

I went through PI in '66 & the M14 was our weapon.
Was even issued one in RVN, had a plastic(?) stock & selector, being I was in a helicopter squadron, only got to shoot it at the dump.
Did my best John Wayne.
Tucked that tight against my side, let'er rip on full auto.
The side of my rib cage looked like raw meat from the hinged butt plate chewing it up.
I think that's the only time I ever got to shoot it.
Hard to believe at the qualify range we'd shoot from the 500 yard line with iron sights, I don't think I can see that far now.
Nice photos.

Note that the rifles are from '81 and '82 and half the magazines came from Viet Nam in my footlocker so preban private property.
