Breaking News: Actor Tony Curtis Has Passed Away

September 29, 2010

ET has learned that the Oscar-nominated actor Tony Curtis has died.

His daughter Jamie Lee Curtis’ rep has confirmed to ET the news of the legendary actor’s passing, but no further details were available.

RIP To a great actor and Veteran.

After serving in the Navy during World War II – where he was wounded in the battle for Guam, and he witnessed the surrender of Japan in Tokyo Bay in 1945!

Then a fantastic acting carreer that spanned many decades, he passed away in my favorite hometown of Las Vegas.

Make 'em laugh up there!

He was a great actor. I liked him in "Houdini" and "Operation Petticoat".

Tony was fascinated with Cary Grant. He even went so far as to imitate his voice in "Some Like it Hot".

I remember watching his movies with my parents. At the time we only had the three network channels. So, seeing a movie, any movie, was a bit of a big deal, especially if it was highly rated.
