My fellow Texans,I think it is time we got together for a shoot,meet etc.October is here and things are beginning to cool off some.I have been talking with a new member,Hammerstike44 about a group get together real soon.Like minded folks,similar interest and such.

I'm looking at two possible dates for me this month,10/16 and 10/30.I proposed we meet at the Lone Star Gun Range near Lockhart.

Jac,you know this range.How friendly is the place?Would they welcome our group for a get together and cook out?

I'm interested, but it just depends on whether or not I can sneak away from work.

Well family always comes first I do not miss a chance either to see my kids.Mine may join me that day.

Hey, this is a great idea - I'm up for it for sure and I can bring a grill and stuff too. I know Matt, the range owner and will see if he'd be cool with a bbq or even a camp-over if you guys are wanting to do that. There is room behind the rifle range to do that. If somebody has an e-z up or similar type tent that we could use that'd be great - need a place to get out of the sun...

I am a member there.

They have two 25 yard ranges and one 100 yard range right now - all have covers so you aren't sitting in the sun.

While aimed rapid fire is OK, I don't think bumping will be tolerated - and I can understand given that its not really controlled. FA is currently only a LEO thing but supressors are AOK.

I'm not sure of the overnight stay,but an all day event is something I'm considering.
