Decided to get myself a little gift for my birthday later this month.

Besides Buck knives I am a big admirer of the more classic, slipjoints and GEC is one of my favorite makers. Of all the different scale materials I love their blood red jigged bone and when I saw their new Viper #47 was coming out in that scale material I had to order one. Plus I've been wanting to get something with a nice Wharncliff style blade to try it out. It shipped today so it will probably be Saturday before it arrives.

I bought this trapper model, also in blood red jig bone for my birthday a couple of years back and love it.

Looks like this may become a tradition.
