It's certainly gotten foreign affairs off the front page, hasn't it? Obama was being hammered big-time by the neo-cons, for not putting boots on the ground in Syria as well as Iraq. His approval rate was down to like 40%.

If history is any guide though, the party of the presidency tends to not do so well during mid-terms (especially the second presidential term mid-terms) so I'd be really surprised if the Democrats somehow held onto the Senate.

Though the timeline isn't as the OP thought, it still fits the narrative of the Mainstream Media. They will ALWAYS pounce on an event that they can EXPLOIT to gin up the base - blacks and cause seeking LIBERALS. Right now their base is demoralized due to Obama being such a disaster. But they CAN stem some of their electoral losses if they can get the base energized. You can always COUNT on the liberal BIASED media to incite riots and create chaos to help the Democrats during an election period.

This is a fact. This idea has been proven. The media would LOVE nothing more than another Trayvon Martin style case just before the November elections, where the race hustlers and the white Socialist liberals scream, and get all their constituents marching in lockstep to the polling places.
