Of course he turned it down. The point is not to have a “Palestinian” state. The point is to destroy Israel. No one was crying about “occupation” between 1948 and 1967 when Egypt had Gaza and Jordan had Judea and Samaria. The “Palestinians” didn’t consider Egyptian and Jordanian rule to be “occupation.” Only Israeli rule is “occupation.” The hypocrisy of the entire “Palestinian” cause is as palpable as its dishonesty, but the world takes no notice.

That's because they're not "Philistines" they're arabs.
Philistia is the area once dominated by Philistines.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philistines#Battles_between_Israel_and_the_Philist ines
What is being done is the attempt by arabs and others to identify the current-day "palestinians" with ancient Philistines, in an effort to make outsiders think they predated Israel in that specific area. Thus making Israel an occupier of Philistine lands rather than an occupier or Israeli lands. The Philistines died out thousands of years ago. What you have over there attempting to portray themselves as Philisitines are Syrians, Egyptians, Jordanians and all else arabs who have found there way into Israel.

Then this may be interesting reading for you: http://www.thetower.org/article/jabotinskys-lost-moment-june-1940/

Especially this part:

I am very much afraid that what I am going to say will not be popular with many among my co-religionists, and I regret that, but the truth is the truth. We are facing an elemental calamity … We have got to save millions, many millions. I do not know whether it is a question of re-housing one-third of the Jewish race, half of the Jewish race, or a quarter of the Jewish race; I do not know; but it is a question of millions … [I]t is quite understandable that the Arabs of Palestine would also prefer Palestine to be the Arab State No. 4, No. 5, or No. 6—that I quite understand. But when the Arab claim is confronted with our Jewish demand to be saved, it is like the claims of appetite versus the claims of starvation.

The rest is quite interesting also......
