I'm talking to an acquaintance about buying a Ruger MKII in stainless. A picture is attached mostly for clarification purposes. I found one on Gunbroker that is still open at $200. What would the estimated market value be for this gun? TIA.

I've got one of those (but mine is a KMK-512 Mark II (bull barrel "target" model). I paid $350 for it NOS (it was a 1978 pistol and I bought it in 2001).

New they go for around $450 to $500.

$200 is a good price IF it's in good to excellent condition and hasn't been bubba'd.

Note that the MK-II pistols are (IMHO) better than the MK-III design. They don't have the stupid magazine disconnect or loaded chamber indicator. It's very reliable even when dirty.

The pistol likes hotter ammo (like CCI Stingers and Velociters), but it also works on junk like Remington Thunderduds.

Actually, *I* don't have that pistol... my daughter decided that she wanted it, so it's hers now...

I replaced the black plastic grips with Hogue Rosewood checkered grips ('cause that's what she wanted).

Here's what the grips look like:

sounds like a decent price to me depending on wear.
I heard some say they are complicated to clean
but I do not know.
