All original! That is a nice looking rifle! Did you get it from CMP?

All original, sort of, IMO restored to original. The big P in the circle says it is a replacement stock, the original stocks didn't have the big P. The Springfield cartouche is sanded down a lot from the arsenal new condition. I assume you know your bayonet isn't correct for the vintage. I point this out for our less savvy members. That one is the Mk V and is Korean vintage, you need an M1 bayonet on that baby.

Don't get me wrong it is a very nice M1 rifle, anyone should be proud to own it. I enjoyed seeing it.

Nice Garand! I've always like the lockbar rear sight.

You may want to check on where you get your info as the Circle P is a proof mark and has absolutly nothing to do with a replacement stock
I do agree , it does appear to be a restoration and not original

You are correct Orlando.

Yes I got it from CMP,
Yes I know the bayonet is a korean era, it actually belongs to my 1954 HRA M1 Garand..
To have a WWII rifle with its origional low wear barrel is rare and also with lockbars....
