PHOENIX -- Five months ago, when the NFL season started, this is the Super Bowl matchup many people expected.

The journey to the desert was bumpy for the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The Patriots started the season 2-2, and the Seahawks were 3-3. Seattle has won eight consecutive games, and the Patriots have won five of the past six, with the only loss coming in the season finale to Buffalo when nothing was on the line.

Now they meet with a shot at history. The Seahawks hope to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the Patriots did it 10 years ago. The Patriots hope to become only the sixth team to win it four times (San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Green Bay Packers).

Most of us here in the Pacific Northwest are rooting for Seattle, of course.

Back-to-back Super Bowl wins are an extreme rarity, but Seattle could very well pull it off this year.

I'm not even a football fan, but this could be a fun one to watch.

Once again your naivete is showing.

That's just what they got caught at.

Cheating is like an iceberg and what gets caught is usually just the tip of it.

You really think that's the only trick they've got in their bag of cheats???

But yeah I am hoping the cheaters lose.

Didn't they lose their last season finale game to the Buffalos once Tom Brady had to play with a fully-inflated ball?

I'm rooting for New England tonight. Anyone that thinks they won the playoffs because they had two pounds less air in the ball didn't watch the game and probably has never played football. They were simply the better team.

I'm surprised a liberal wouldn't be rooting for a cheater sine that's a mainstay of the liberal playbook.

I dunno about Buffalo but they scored on an illegal play against the Colts with their "creative" formations they've been using.

NFL officiating head: Patriots scored touchdown on illegal play vs. Colts.

http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/01/30/new-england-patriots-illegal-play-ineligible-receiver

"The New England Patriots scored a touchdown in the AFC Championship Game on a play that should have been called back for an illegal substitution, NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino told reporters Thursday."

"The Patriots have tinkered with their eligible receivers in their past two games. In the Divisional Round against the Baltimore Ravens, New England used a four-man offensive line and declared running back Shane Vereen ineligible on a handful of plays in the third quarter. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh called the tactic "deceptive" and "illegal."

I'm trying to keep an open mind, but so far I'm not seeing that legendary New England D... ;)

OUCH. Interception!

Someone help me out here, all I'm seeing here are a bunch of Yankee white guys being bested by a bunch of uncivilized, thuggish Amish Yutes.

I have no use for Assachussetts and I see enough ocean-raping Seattle fahqs on a regular basis that I don't need to turn on my tv and see more.

let's see.

fuck seattle, fuck new England. fuck the libtards that root for them, fuck the shitholes they come from

pretty much sums it up.

The Pats should have run that fucking clock down. Free 30-yard play + 3 time outs might just be long enough for Seattle to make the final score.

Are there usually this many dumb-ass plays (by both sides) during a championship match like this?

18 seconds left and the brutes are getting restless.

I don't know, that was pretty shady.

Cheaters or not, that was quite a few penalties racked up there by Brady's bunch.

I was kind of hoping for more fist-fights and shit to jump off in the end-zone there myself, oh well. :p

Not too impressed by New England. Seattle threw that fucking game away.

Why would you not give the ball to Lynch????

Well Patriots won thanks to a piss poor decision by the Sea Hawks QB in the last 40 seconds of the game. Damn it was an exciting Superbowl, seen some that just about put you to sleep.

That's what was thinking, but you gotta admit that was a good defensive interception, other wise it was Seattles game

That catch that got them to the 1 yard line will go down in history.

If they would have won yeah but now all anybody is gonna remember is the bonehead call that lost the game for them.
