Didn't buy really anything for awhile + sold off some stuff I never used. The amount of "stuff' you can accumulate over time is ridiculous .

Is a hoot to shoot though, was easy hitting a MOBG target at 400yds .

Best book on the BAR I've ever read. A must have for any BAR fan or owner.

Oh man nice to see those
HK - did you come across it somewhere or order it?

So is it one of the Ohio Ordnance BAR rifles or is it a papered select fire? Either way it rocks.

Brand new. Called oow one day and had it the next.

a F/A is worth more than my house originally cost.

Bonus points for having "the shoulder thing that goes up." That is a nice-looking liberal pants-wetting device you got there.

passed up a lot of used ones in the past. When I had the $$ something else would fall into my lap .

Im done for awhile, only real interests are 2 rare parts kits for future building.

Do they still stock them? (I had thought that they stopped making them?) I have shot Richards. They are really nice rifles. Congratulations for sure!!

See that's just it, way too much cash for a semi IMO. I'd love to have one but not for what they want to charge for it. Just knowing you purchased one is a huge statement. I've also shot Richard's Large Marge and though it was a sweet shooter it is still just a semi. Now a papered NFA version would be da shit but not for what they want for one. My pickup truck didn't cost what one would bring today. I just weigh out what the price means ... 1 BAR or build 4 AR rifles with Magazines and red dot sights. Then I go ... nope.

it's a stupid give/take game. "they have it , you dont"
Could have bought a receiver for $1800 + a complete parts kit + barrel + semi parts + my time and we're talking way over the $4000 mark .

When it comes to larger stuff , you're mostly paying for labor.

Prices on stuff like this is moot when you look at guns like New MP5 clones.
I've always wanted one but upwards of $3k + for some builds and the excitement goes away.

The cool factor has it for me. I would love to have one as well. Just because it is very cool, and not everyone has one. Yes it is pricey and you could certainly get more "bang for your buck" with 4 ar's. My son is wanting us to get a 50. Right now he is really into WWII movies. He likes shooting the vintage stuff. So, maybe something like this would interest him a bit more.

I definitely like it for sure! Practical? Not really, but hey. Most folks have an ar at the range. Not like when I first bought one. Not everyone at the range has a Semi BAR!!

HK, did you order any of their 30rd mags?

Helen Keller

no, Im content with 20rd mags + I have a bunch of FN-D BAR mags that need a little altering to work.

Richard Simmons

Just wondering. Thought about ordering a couple but IIRC they were like $60 now they're $85.

Helen Keller

theyre $60 at centerfire.

I just shop around/horse trade for more 20's .

disassembly on this is pretty easy compared to most browning designs of the period.

I've probably got 30 BAR mags but Sarco has some nice FND mags for $10ea. How hard is the conversion?

Helen Keller

spine has to come up about 5/8" then a notch put in place.

pretty easy if you have a fully adjustable welder.
