Sorry, but this has nothing to do with being a liberal, it has to do with poor taste. Families of missing kids already have worst case scenarios running through their minds making them worry. The last thing they need is for someone to bring up other possible, unhelpful, and frightening possibilities. And when the family so obviously has some Latino heritage, adding comments that are insulting are really in poor taste.
