I like them for what they are: a chain sandwich shop.

Pony up for the extra meat and you'll enjoy it.

That being said, I'd much prefer to eat at a small business sub shop.

They'll make a turd, but nothing to write home about.

My favorite sub here in Florida is from the deli in a Publix grocery store. They make great sandwiches.

If I go to the publix deli, I'm getting dark meat fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and potato wedges with gravy on them.

Did you know that 1 drumstick has more Cholesterol than 1/4 lb. of Steak?

How much is it if I dip the whole drumstick in gravy first? :D

The only way I would eat only 1/4lb of steak is if it was ground up, covered in cheese and bacon and put between two buns.

What if it were thinly sliced and served with grilled onions and peppers on a hoagie with provolone?

honestly I would hope for more than 1/4lb but that configuration is also acceptable.

Gravy neutralizes cholesterol. At least that's what I'm going to tell myself.

Nah, diet soda does. That is why I always get a diet coke with my double whopper with cheese, extra mayo.

And salt neutralizes saturated fats, that's why everything deep fried is covered in salt.
THAT'S HOW I ROLL.

I think that would have more cholesterol than a drumstick.

While I prefer small, independent delis, supermarket delis are a good second. Haven't had a Firehouse sub as they sound a lot like a Quiznos, which is really just a Subway where everything is toasted and you don't have as many vegetable choices for the sandwich.

Potbelly makes a decent sandwich.

If you're going for quick subs/sandwiches I agree.
