Well, got my ammo from Palmetto - and I decided that I needed to open it up (came in a spam can) and check it out. So I did:

So, the first thing I notice - "made in Romania" hmmmm, then I see "berdan primed"

I checked the bullets and they are magnetic - even more so than the Privi Partizan SS109 that I've recently bought.

But this is not Privi obviously - and is not boxer primed.

Just thought I'd pass that along to anybody wanting to purchase.

The price was great though ($189/800 count spam can) and at this point, I'd still buy more - but I do want to check it at the range first to make sure it's good stuff.

It's rusky steel cased ammo - fine for your .223 AK but I don't shoot steel cased in my AR's - very dirty. Cabelas had Tula (poly Wolf) .223 55 gr fmj for $200/1000. There are better deals out there than that if you want rusky .223.

Here's some Wolf brand for $189/1000: http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product945.html

FYI - I posted this is the sticky above but I pulled a bullet out the romanian hot shot and this ammo is boxer primed - the propellant is ball powder - looks like W748 (BLC-2?) - and the bullet looks like a standard SS109 bullet - mic's .224".
