it has been well over 100 during the day here and everything is on fire so all I smell is smoke.

NAPOTS, you wouldn't happen to be somewhere in Washington state, would ya? My parents live up in Chewelah and they can see the fires on the hills behind their property.

I'm in North Central Washington and while the temps are finally below triple digits, we have fires everywhere and the smell of smoke is strong.

After a couple of years of drought, I wouldn't bet on a good hunting season around here unless we get some rain beforehand. Down on the Colville Reservation, they have shut down the forest to all uses at the present time due to a 35,000 acre fire and the danger of starting more fires.

Here is Virginia I can't smell it yet, but I know it is getting closer as the nights are finally starting to cool off.

The weather has not changed much here in Ga. but the days are getting shorter and you can tell
the Sun is moving south. 4-6 weeks we will feel it.

Summer birds are all out of here, seems a bit early.
There seems to be a few weeks in late summer that all the birds are gone must be making room for the migratory ones to show up. Food supply has a chance to build up for them as they move south

This guy showed up a few minutes ago

Should wet your appetites a little

Noticed some movement this morning way out in the field on the other side of my house
May be the same buck not sure

Zoomed out and took what I could. Can't tell if that's velvet he's loosing or just bean plants hanging off his antlers
Supposed to be cooling down a lot this week that's going to feel like the change is here

Here it is two months later.
Turned on the porch light last night and these two were out in the yard

Not the best shot but they look pretty content
Thought I heard a pack of yote's earlier but wasn't sure.
I have a hunch these two might have hunkered done near the house to gain a little safety.
Firearm season starts here Saturday so will probably see a few more.
My property is kind of an understood safety zone around here so they can get some stress relief

They rest in my yard as well and my yard is small. No shoot here too.

Off Topic..I used Irish Spring soap hung up in onion sacks and suit cages and it worked. The deer stayed out of the flower gardens.:2cents:
