I think I had my first encounter with a robot today. I called Dish Network to report a TV service issue. The customer support "person" I found myself talking to sounded very robot-like in tone and in responses to questions but with no trace of the usual Indian or Paki accent. Am I talking to a person I asked? "Yes" was the response. I then stated "you sound like a machine" and received the response "I will try to be more personable." A few comments later the individual or computer I was talking to asked me if I had had breakfast yet - it was about 9:30 AM.

You spoke to Sheldon Cooper. Dish Network is his day job.... ;)
