This team comes in at 4300 lbs.

Went out to get some shots of those old buildings and there was a horse pull going on so grabbed some shots.
Never knew how quick they take off once they're hooked up but I got a few good pics
Same team here

This was the smaller team of six running today at 3400 lbs

They all had heart this was the third competition in as many days. Very hot today and humid.

One of the teams today won the previous night with a 13,300 lb pull. I believe full pull but may have been longest distance.

I didn't hear the final here today but when I went to get something to eat they were at 8500 lbs doing full pulls.

Feller that got kicked deserved it for being a dumb ass. Bet he is smarter now.

Nice team pulling, it wasn't always the largest team that wins and I have seen some oddball pairs in harness where the smaller horse was busting a gun and the bigger horse was working but not as hard. Just depends on how much time they spent on the stone oat and how much time the handler spent with his boys. Up around here you are just as likely to see some old goat in his late 70's early 80's working his team and the commands are in Norwegian, Bohemian, or German instead of English. They always do well. Good chance mama or papa is in the stand watching with a critical eye and will critique every pull when they get home.

I've been thinking, if that was one of those team horses, that guy would probably still be stuck on the bottom of it's hoof.

Here's my Clydesdale/Thoroughbred cross, Cameron (Cammie)! She's a big 17.2 hands, but we love her...

How's "Mrs. Gash" doing? It's been about a year, right?

"Still" recovering.
But she went from a silver dollar size exposed bone to a nickle sized scab.
She is healing really well, but still has a ways to go.
Thank you for asking.

That's good I didn't get involved with that thread but was interested in how it was going. Had similar here and followed the same course pretty much. They say if there's a way to hurt itself a horse will find it.

Nice picture.
I'm glad I can start enjoying the subject again, was a time I couldn't look at a horse without going to a very dark place.
Day at a time

Yeah.
She had quite a few really bad cuts on her rear lower legs.
All have healed up just great except for the worst one.
That wound will take longer.
I'm just glad I didn't have to put her down.
Would have broke my heart.

I need a cover like that in the background.
Wanna come build it for me?

You guys are making me feel all bad now. I haven't been able to get on a horse since 1988 when I hurt my back. Even in the service, every time I was TAD at a big post somewhere the first thing I wanted was my barracks, then the chow hall and then where were the stables and could I ride. Still can't believe I married a non-rider, damn I was stupid. If I could ride I would have a mule so fast the poor thing would be chomping on her hay in one barn and swallowing it in mine.
