First time in ages I ran across a 1940 Tikka M27 with popscicle sticks in a local pawn shop. Beautiful stock and overall EX+ condition. Tagged at $400. Bought one just like it years ago for $150.00. Probably should have made an offer but with some pending surgery for my wife this month I figured it was more prudent to keep my cash for that.

Sounds like a nice find, but like you I too am having trouble with the current prices on firearms. I know the good old days of inexpensive C&Rs as well as AK variants is well gone, but the memory remains.

Will keep you and your wife in my prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery.

Thank you for the prayers. I've been thinking about this M27 all weekend. Trying to figure out what I might be able to trade them for it? I really miss the one I had, actually IIRC I had two at one time and sold them both. I've still got an M39 and a Finn 91/30 re-arsenal in a beautiful potbelly stick, (still unfired since re-arsenal) and this M27 would go wonderfully with those two. The M27 is probably my favorite model of Finnish Mosin. If not it's at least tied with the M39.

Even 400 doesn't sound too bad considering what Classic sold all those much more common M39's for.

Richard, would they do a layaway? $100 down should hold it for a while until you get over your wife's surgery and have a little more money to spend...

Just a thought. I've had to put a lot of guns on layaway in the past.
