No thumbs were injured.

I took my Garand out a few weeks ago. I had almost forgot just how much of a pleasure it was to shoot. What range were you shooting at (distance, not place) and what kind of groupings were you getting? Alismith and I were getting abut 5" groupings at 100 yards with mine from a bench (no sandbags, just offhand from the bench).
I see you use the fluorescent targets, too. I like them especially when shooting long distance as the point of impact is easier to see. Not sure why competitive targets don't go to that "technology".

I was only shooting at 50 yards. My eyes are not what they once were. The bottom target is the M1 Garand. Ammo was some Korean surplus. I think that was 48 rounds
The top target is the 1911 at 7 yards.... Damn that front sight is getting hard to see

Nice shooting and thanks for sharing! Judging from the one photo, that is one fine looking Garand!

Thanks,
I got really lucky with this one , it is a really nice Garand. Service grade from the CMP, all H&R except the NM operating rod. It's a 1955 if I remember correctly so it never saw any service.

Nice to see the post and the weapons. All the firearms I have I really love the M1. It is always so very satisfying to shoot it. When I take visitors / family members shooting they almost always pick an M1 Garand as their favorite out of the day at the range.
