After maybe a hundred plus gun shows in a dozen states or more and hundreds of pawn shop stops I don't remember ever seeing one...

There is one on a certain gun auction site right now labeled as 7.62x39 .223 Remington

I wouldn't mind snagging it.
...I'm just not in "buying mode" right now.

I'm not. It's just that a lot of the sites I frequent don't allow links to active auctions so rather than take the time to read the rules here I just opted to err on the side of caution.

I'd like to see a close-up of that receiver. The .223 SKS has distinct markings.

I post live links to auction sites all the time. Especially when I run into good buys on special hard to find Chinese AK variants. I also post live links to auctions showing bubba specials. :)

I've never heard of a .223 SKS before. I would like to know how reliable it is. Since it didn't get popular, it may not be as reliable as the 7.62.

Well I guess you learn something new everyday.

So now that would be something cool to add to my collection....:big-fu:

Why would you want one? Its the same tired worn out thing all over again with the AK-74. The AK and SKS were meant to be .30 Caliber Rifle's. I still have awful memories of that lousy .223 M-16 from the Army. You could not give me anything in .223.

Well if you ever rin across a terrible .223... and it ends up in your possession... feel free to send it my way and I'll put it with my other terrible .223. ;-)

COOL!

If I ever win the lottery I'll have one less person to buy a F/A M16 for.
