A Sudanese male, import, (muslim) drove his car into a crowd of students standing on a curb, then got out and started stabbing people. Police shot and killed him.

The university sent out a tweet that I believe said something about an active shooter and the flee, shelter in place or fight. That may be because they don't have an alarm for active stabber or they didn't know if it would escalate. I know my first thought was that it was another shooting and I bet that's what a lot of people thought. Mid the media is still reporting it as an "active shooter" I'd have a problem with but at the time I can see why they might have reported it as such.

The reports I have heard claim the killer was born in Somalia and brought to the U.S. as a child. The same radio news story also said the killer had achieved his "permanent residency" status, but I don't think this is as same as a "green card", or is it?
