I sure hope this happens. 1944 crates, still in cosmo wrap.

Depending on where you read this, it does look like a done deal!

probably for no less than an arm or leg coming from the cmp.

Not seeing anything on the CMP site, yet. It would be great if this happens. I would consider getting another M1 if this happens, especially if they are older.

From looking around out in town it seems that CMP prices are at least competitive, if not a little better than what I see in pawn shops and gun stores, at least for a run of the mill M1. Their "Correct Grade" and "Collector Grade" seem expensive, but for shooters the prices don't seem out of line.

They sure are a long way from the $200 bucks I paid for my first CMP M1 Garand. It was a Winchester receiver with an 1968 dated Springfield Arsenal barrel on it.
