Yep, the train, the Mobley Hotel, the Bankhead Highway and Jean Porter are all from an early era of Cisco.

Also home to:
Santa Claus Bank Robbery
Williamson Dam...once largest hollow core dam in the world.
Had the world's largest outdoor concrete swimming pool below the dam.
First town west of Ft. Worth to have 2 railroad lines.
Had a shut down theater that had a working phone for 40 years after it closed.

Since then I almost died in a crash crash inside that very same car. No idea what happened because my memory was erased by the concussion, but for some reason I wrapped my car around an oak tree going 50-45 mph, which is the speed limit.

Uses paper, and using air, sounds like a cap gun, sometimes louder.
And after taking the picture I realized that it feeds the paper too. The used paper goes into a track on the top of the gun where little fingers advances the paper as you pull the trigger.

I don't remember how we did it, but as kids we could take a clothes pin apart and reassemble it as a "pistol" that would shoot dry Pinto Beans.

Make things by braiding vinyl lace? We would snip off quarter and half-inch piece and slip them on straight pins to make miniature swords. Could draw blood in a mini sword fight.

We used make them, but instead of a bean we would shoot matches, they would shoot and light a strike-anywhere match.......amazing we never burnt anything down.

All I remember was it took a wooden clothes pin some rubber bands to hold the pieces together and the coil of the spring was the trigger.

We used the matches in our BB guns. Grandma was never happy about that......

Spent 15 months on this beauty

I was working on the top(36" pipe) when it was announced Atlanta Was awarded the 96
olympics. The sound from a whole city in celebration is something else I will
NEVER forget.

Oh Oh Oh did I tell you? I guess not. Back when I was 31 or 32 I had finally become a man.
This is no brag.. I literally could and did do it all. You see those 8' diameter ball on the very top?
As far as it is known I am the only person to stand on one of them. I am not bragging hell I worked a places
that had 2000 psi 2000 * vapor. I and another Local #72 ran close to 1 mile of 8" pipe at Concourse E
Hartsfeild Jackson airport. I have looked into the containment pools in nuclear power houses when they pull
and replaced the fuel rods. They glow when moving through the coolant.

I have been involved with 80,000 lbs. lifts and i am not talking about watching. Hands on, Hours of Helicopter picks.
Yeah this sounds like shit and maybe it is. But I will never never never apologize to any of you for anything.

We all grow up at certain times and ways. I will be 61 in April I have been called many things here and I will not
deny I deserve them. Cool. I am grown. MRK asked me who I am. He now has quite a few facts. Cool.

Lets not forget this I Spent 9 months on the on that has the arch. They are called the King and Queen.
We were dropping 16" risers and it was cold. Wind maybe 20 mph and 22* when we got to work. We were using MIG setups and were not sure
if we could weld on the 20th floor (this was the base building) so we took the buck hoist upstairs. Well it turned out the wind was to stiff
and we went to leave. But there seems to be a problem the buck hoist has taken a dump and they were building
so fast the carpenters haven't had time to build the temporary ladders between the floors. We are trapped 250 or so feet in the air.
There is no shelter except for the columns holding the next few floors up. We were trapped there for 35 minutes. That was the coldest
I have ever been in my life. And to this day I look to that as why I HATE cold.

Just for advice 2 or 3 years later 3 guys died there. They had a fake lake and the fountain wasn't working right.
They pulled the man hole cover and a guy went in, they lost contact with him and another went in.The 3rd
guy made the same mistake and went to investigate. CO2 killed all 3 of them.

The Nazis were barbaric. They deserved every bit of the hell that the UK and USA dropped on them.

And, to truly know the fear of fire, one needs to be burned.

I learned the hard way how bad burns are (20% body coverage third degree burns, skin grafts, two surgeries and a month in the burn unit plus three more recovering at home).

I had sheets of dead, gray skin hanging off my arms and legs, and the burned flesh underneath was a mix of bleeding red and charred black. I must have been in shock at the time, because I thought it looked quite awesome.

What nobody realizes until they experience it is... along with the beyond excruciating pain of the burns themselves, there is also the almost-as-bad pain where the top layers of GOOD skin are sliced off to make the skin grafts. And, since you need a bit more than 20% of good skin to cover a 20% burn area, figure 45% or so area of raw, open screaming pain.

Of course, the pain meds (I got dilaudid and morphine) didn't do shit for the pain, and after the end of the month in the hospital I had to go through withdrawal from the pain meds before I could go home.

The searing pain of burned skin plus hard core opiate withdrawal is as close to hell as you can get while still alive. There were times when I seriously thought that it would be easier to just die.

I'd refuse any form of opiate if prescribed , I'd rather deal with pain than the withdrawal.

Once was enough for me to change my mind on painkillers.

I can believe it. My body eats the stuff I have come "awake" during a surgical procedure and ask the doctors
are we done? Remember it as clear as day. The dentist has to use twice the numbing agent. Advil (Noproxen Sodium) does nothing
for me. Acetaminophen is bad for livers, For Ibuprofen I have to have 800 mg and that is a script. And it is hit and miss on the relief.

That is ok I get it and would have loved working on it..

Story( I know ) but this stuff is real. My ONLY disappointment in all these years is I was to stupid not to take a camera.
I have some pics but the regrets are way more.

October '89 this is going to be a crappy day. It is 40* and raining . I think it was a Thursday (payday) but it is going to suck.
We are working on the 40th floor (40 x 13 gives the height) We are dropping 14" risers for the condenser water lines
and this will not be fun. We get on the buck hoist and start the ride up it is 6:30 0r so and the sun has not quite risen.
We are shakin, rattlin and rollin on our way up, while the buck hoist has been wrapped in plastic it is still leaking.

29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 it starts to lighten some. Close to 39 there is more light. Get to 40 and we POPPED through
the cloud layer. It was 10 or more minutes to sunrise but the clouds were flat there was no wind. We are on the base building
and there is nothing but gray floor, clouds, columns and a cable to keep you from walking the building.
It was flat and according to sight you could have walked the feet or couple of miles to the other structures that were built that high.

Well work starts at 7:00 and we got at it as we did not wish to work in puddles of rain, we got out the Hilti Hammer Drill
put a 3/4" bit in it and started drilling through the floor

The Sun came up over the cloud cover and I knew then I was blessed to see what was happening.
It was the MOST amazing true pure colour I have ever experienced. I swear It was any colour that you can think of and it was painted
on the cloud canvas.

Ascension 2017 Poem

I was in the back main isle of Walmart at the corner of the iPads in the electronics where this happened last year. Easter eggs were still all over the place. I had my head down and I felt a shadow approaching. I asked out loud, "Are you, John Henry Tholms?" "The man replied "Are you Samson Todd Bessus?". As I reached for the camera in my pocket, a gunshot rings out. As the woman behind the checkout counter reaches out to tackle a young blond headed kid sporting a cheap double barreled plastic pistol; I turned around and realized who the guy bleeding on the floor is, and desperately called for help. He grabbed my ear and whispered, "Anyone who attempts to save their life, will lose it". And the 33 year old man died that moment in my arms.

Suddenly a brighter flash of light pierces the soft florescent lights on the ceiling; As I looked up, a stranger shouts at me in a loud voice. "REACH FOR ME, QUICKLY, BEFORE THE PORTAL CLOSES". As I reached up, I felt what appeared to be the foot of a giant bird of prey grab me, and as I looked up, the flash evaporated. Scarecrows with pumpkins and turkeys were on almost every shelf it seemed.

As I stood up a crowd was watching me, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!?", "And what just happened??".

As I tried to explain my disposition; a man in a brilliantly white shroud walks around the corner of the arts and crafts department; as he lowered the hood on his bright white garment, the face of a very, very, very, very familiar man is revealed. As a low flying Learjet whistles over the store, I reach to hug him, without hesitation.

Suddenly a man in a red garb, similar to the one I was holding, places a large metallic object on my head; as he removed his headpiece, a man of middle eastern, possibly Jewish decent emerges, there was a small tattoo of an eagle on his forehead. I soon realized what the object he placed on my head was.

I told him, "Thank you brother for saving me", he replied to me, "No; my friends son, he is the one who saved you".

When I realized who the guy in my arms was; I let go of him to look around, and all of the people in the crowd that was watching me, were now all down on the floor, watching him..

Uses paper, and using air, sounds like a cap gun, sometimes louder.
And after taking the picture I realized that it feeds the paper too. The used paper goes into a track on the top of the gun where little fingers advances the paper as you pull the trigger.

I really like my chinese guns, I have AKs, SKSs, Tokarev Pistol clones, M1911 Clones, Double barreled shotguns, pump shotguns. NDM-86. The early chinese imports weren't crap. The last ditch ones were suspect, but I don't have those. :(

My Chinese mac 90 is a very well made gun. My drum snaps in tight and runs flawlessly. This will be one of my first "go to" guns.



I've got a Chinese AK (A Norinco) and a Chinese Type 56 SKS. Both are exceptionally well made.

Chinese military hardware is not the same thing as Chinese mass produced consumer junk that we buy.

I was living in Torrance CA back in the '80s when she first started her act as the host on one of the Los Angeles TV station's late-night horror movies. I was in my late teens-early'20s back then and Elvira was must see TV even if the movies she was showing were really cheesy.

A progress report. The diamond back is a gift for my father. The two lowers are going to be mine. The one with the M4 stock is awaiting its M4 upper which is in the mail. The other one is going to be an M16a2 style. With fixed butt stock and 20 inch barrel with detachable carry handle. Will start working on the last one when i get some more money to throw at it. I stuck the tapco mag in there just to make it look more complete lol

yup. took about an hour to complete both. Its like building Lego. The only thing i had a bit of difficulty with was the detent for the pivot pin. I had to do that part inside a clear plastic bag.


I also just realized what forum i put this in. Oops. Thought i was in the General gun pic thread.

Probably too late now but I found a putty knife to make that easier you can push the detent and spring in with the blade of the putty knife and still slip the pin in the hole.

I ended up using a thin blade knife to hold it. Was a real PITA. Tried all sorts of things till I figured that out. I even had the pin in with just the spring and no detent at one point lol.

With Krupski's help, here is what I could do. Thanks Krupski ! Still doesn't have the word "medium" in the link but, by playing around with the "Linked Thumb" and "Linked Image" under "Additional Info" on the right, I first got the thumbnail in then the picture.
