Seems like the Japanese WWII machine guns are generally less desirable than most and usually cheaper though "cheap" in this instance is a relative term. I always figured it was due to design and or caliber as well as ammo availability. Recently I ran across a Type 99 converted to 7.62x39 for $14,000 which didn't seem all that bad a price then was looking a various YouTube videos like the one below.

I'm sure an converted firearm would kill it's collector value but it would have to make it far easier and cheaper to shoot.

When it comes to transferable full autos not much hurts value except condition is my observation.

chinese converted is still part of history, can usually go back to 7.7 if you want to blow more $$$.
